From the recording In It For Blood
In a dark place his eyes slowly adjusted and he saw her. A stunning wraith that he knew he should avoid. This is the story behind “In It For Blood’. Ed and Podunk are celebrating the season with a twang filled telling of scene of werewolves and vampires based on “The Last Werewolf Trilogy” by Glen Duncan.
The Podunk Virtual Band adds an organ to increase the chill factor in the Halloween themed piece. Lots of funk and twang in this tale of terror.
Lyrics
In It For Blood
She was pretty for a vampire, It was hard to look away,
I just kept it to myself, Didn’t have thing to say,
A stunning wraith with palest skin, dark, hypnotic eyes,
Dressed all in black, she seemed to fly beneath the evening skies,
Different in so many ways, We’d never be alright,
These things are never easy for creatures of the night,
We had one thing in common, We craved the taste of blood,
One of us would fly at night, While I ran through the woods,
I am a different being, One that changes with the moon,
I’ve got too good a sense of smell, Too close and I would swoon,
When the moon is full I run, and howl the night away,
I find myself in human form with the light of day,
When stars fade and the sky is light, I walk out in the day,
The sun is not my enemy, But she must stay away,
When night time falls she seeks a meal, her hunger must be fed,
Before the morning rises she must rush to seal her bed,
We’ve got more in common, Than I ever could have thought,
We both must walk forever, One alive the other not,
If you long for life eternal, You should worry what you crave,
When you have to walk forever, You’ll be longing for the grave.
