One Warm Evening

Stopped in one warm evening,

To hear an old friend sing,

Sat right up waiting for the break,

Not sure what the night would bring,

Three lost years faded quickly,

As I listened to her voice,

It was like we’d never parted,

Even though it was my choice,

I could have chose to follow,

But her dreams aimed far away,

She said she had to travel,

I had nothing left to say,

I always thought I’d be the leaver,
It’s the way I’ve always been,

Now I’m the one that’s lonesome,

Dreaming we could start again.
